Did you know that there are several great Playa del Carmen flights that reach the major destinations of the Yucatan Peninsula?
Whether you’re looking for a flight to Chichen Itza, organizing a trip to Merida or even want to fly into Chetumal to visit neighboring Belize, our Playa del Carmen flights and charters make the entire region just a short and scenic airplane ride away.
Playa del Carmen Flights
Getting to and from Playa del Carmen by car or bus from places like Bacalar, Holbox or Merida is just fine for those who have the time to go slow.
But, for instance, for those who don’t want to spend five hours one way and five hours back driving to Chetumal, then Playa del Carmen flights and airplane charters are a great alternative.
Of course, traveling by air is more expensive but for those wanting comfort and style there’s no better option.
This is where we can take you.
Note that all prices are in USD and are for round-trip day trips to and from your destination of choice.

Merida is such a gorgeous and thriving city that it has received the distinction of being the Cultural Capital of the Americas. A big honor indeed.
There are so many things to see and do in Merida that it deserves its own article. Merida also deserves at least one good day exploring this charming town’s beautiful colonial center.
Yucatan Today provides a great guide to local activities including top regional attractions and the best restaurants.

The great city of the ancient Maya and a New Seven Wonder of the World, Chichen Itza is as fascinating as it is inspiring.
Located halfway between Valladolid and Merida, these majestic Mayan ruins are the gateway to exploring the colonial haciendas, mystic cenotes (sinkholes), and local life of the nearby Mayan towns and villages.
Our Chichen Itza charter also includes a guided visit of the ruins, a visit to the Ik Kil Cenote, and a traditional Mexican lunch buffet.

Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo and the closest airport to the neighboring Central American country of Belize.
While there is not a lot to see and do in Chetumal proper, there are many great activities and attractions nearby.
One great option is to visit Bacalar. Known as the Lagoon of Seven Colors, Bacalar is a beautiful oasis and the perfect stop for a great day trip from Playa del Carmen that would otherwise be impossible.
Other places worth visiting include the Mayan ruins of Kohunlich and the free-trade zone on the border between Mexico and Belize.

Normally it would take about a two-hour car ride plus a thirty-minute ferry to make it over to beautiful Holbox Island.
With Fly Playa, however, you can travel to Holbox from Playa del Carmen in just twenty minutes — that’s in addition to the amazing scenery of the Yucatan Peninsula and the Gulf of Mexico you’ll be able to take in along the way!
A day trip to Holbox will allow you to visit this charming island of white sand streets and colorful houses and still make it back to Playa del Carmen by early afternoon.
You’ll enjoy taking in the island vibes as you wander through the unpaved streets on foot, by bicycle or in a golf cart!
By taking a Holbox charter flight from Playa del Carmen, you can enjoy activities on the island such as swimming with whale sharks, fishing or simply hanging out on the beautiful beach.
Tip: Holbox is also a great destination to go spearfishing!

Cancun to Playa del Carmen by airplane is not something many people consider given the fact that the two cities lie approximately one hour apart.
However, if you’re looking for a quick way to get in and out of one or the other and would like to combine that with some spectacular scenic views of the Caribbean Sea, then a Cancun charter may be for you.
Flights arrive and depart from Cancun International Airport, which makes it an easy and quick way to either catch your flight or make it to the beach lickety-split.
Not bad at all, especially when there’s traffic on that two-lane highway between Playa del Carmen and Cancun.
Flight time from Playa del Carmen: 15 minutes
