Following a safety briefing and information about your flight, you´ll take off in a modern Cessna airplane as you set course for your first archaeological site: the stunning Mayan ruins of Ek Balam.
These beautiful ruins set in the middle of the jungle are spread out over twelve square miles. However, reconstruction of the site has been limited to just one square mile, meaning that you’ll be provided a much better view of Ek Balam than if you were to take a long bus ride from Playa del Carmen to Ek Balam.
Then, you´ll head north to your next destination: Chichen Itza.
A New Seven Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Heritage Site, you´ll have the chance to take in the scope and beauty of these majestic Mayan ruins from the comfort of your airplane seat and far away from the overbearing afternoon heat.
Among the sites you´ll be able to take in from above include the world-famous Kukulkan pyramid, the Observatory, the Sacred Cenote, the Temple of the Warriors, and the backcourt, among others.
From there, you´ll fly to the Mayan ruins of Coba which are set deep within the forest and right next to a large, crocodile-filled lagoon. Here you´ll see the tallest pyramid in the entire Yucatan Peninsula —Nohoch Mul — before heading north down the coastline for your next magical encounter: Tulum.
Known as the Place of the Dawning Sun in Yucatec Maya, you´ll get truly privileged views of this walled city on the Caribbean before continuing your flight path to your next destination: Cobá.
Having seen the best of the best, you´ll make your way back to the Playa del Carmen airport just a few short hours later so that you can sit down with a refreshing tropical cocktail and upload those aerial pictures you took to your Instagram and Facebook accounts.
This tour lasts approximately two hours.
