There’s no classier and more spectacular way to get from Playa del Carmen to Chichen Itza than from high up in the heavens.
Then, once you safely landed at nearby Pisté airport, a Fly Playa taxi will take you on a short ten-minute ride to the entrance to these majestic ruins built thousands of years ago by the ancient Maya.

About the Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins
For hundreds of years, the great city of Chichen Itza reigned supreme as one of the major ceremonial and population centers of the entire Mayan region.
The name Chichen Itza is commonly translated as “At the mouth of the well of the Itzaes” in reference to the sacred sinkholes which served as portals to the Netherworld.
Spread out over six square miles, Chichen Itza is a large complex made up of various ceremonial sites, ball courts and other important buildings and figures.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered a Seven New Wonder of the World, Chichen Itza is the second most visited archaeological site in all of Mexico, only surpassed by Teotihuacan located outside of Mexico City.
